ABOUT GENEVIEVE

Genevieve is a freelance journalist based in Japan.

Previously, she covered France and French politics for The Local Europe. She has reported on snap parliamentary elections and pensions protests, investigated the sudden rejection of foreign retirees applying for French nationality, and deciphered why the French are drinking less wine. She was also a co-host of the Talking France podcast.

Genevieve holds a master's degree in International Affairs and Journalism from Sciences Po in Paris. She has a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she also studied French and International Development.

Genevieve is a native English speaker, and she is fluent in French. She's currently learning Japanese.

Howard County, Maryland, is her home.
